Abelard
Abelard was established in 1922, born out of the expertise of three generations of shirtmakers. Elegance, quality and luxury have always been the fabric of the brand. The brand is named after Abelard who was a medieval French Philosopher and Theological Scholar. He achieved fame through Europe for his writings and philosophies. He later achieved infamy by pursuing a relationship with the pious beauty Heloise against her family’s wishes. She had a son out of wedlock, and was then forced into life as a nun. Theirs is one of history’s great unrequited love stories.
